On the distant, western edge on the Kent coastline lays the mysterious Dungeness, translated simply as ‘headland’ or less simply ‘dangerous nose’.

As the sea recedes from the land it exposes the biggest shingle area on the continent. The growing 12 square miles of shingle sand is identified as the UKs only desert.

Resident birds pepper the skyline thanks to its large nature reserves, which also proudly host over 600 types of plants.

Take an eerie trip along the lengthy wooden beach walk, and spot the old train line, skeletons of boats and the WW2 acoustic mirrors.

Dungeness has had an array of media coverage due to it’s unusual landscape, most recently known for the setting for Nicki Minaj's "Freedom" music video and the E4 tv channel adverts.
