Rich in history, golden sandy beaches and picturesque views, it is no wonder Broadstairs is the ‘Jewel in Thanet’s crown’.

Broadstairs boosts an abundance of beautifully crafted coastline, with 7 named beaches displaying creviced cliffs, flint-filled rock pools and a seamless horizon different at every angle, Broadstairs is a delight to witness. From the perfectly curved Viking Bay to the curious caves and chalk stack at Botany Bay.

Once a naval ship yard and the first to bear the news of the victory of the Battle of Waterloo. Maybe this is why it’s crest motto is Stella Maris or "Star of the Sea", or perhaps it’s because at it’s zenith, at sunrise, the shimmering surf so beautifully mirrors the whole golden bay.

Broadstairs celebrates it’s Victorian history with the annual Dickens Festival in honour of the novelist Charles Dickens who wrote and lived for some while in the town. Musical traditions are humbled with the annual Folk festival in August when the town ignites with music, morris dancers and merriment.
